Some great Read-a-thon Night photos were published in this week’s edition of The Weekly, a weekly newspaper that Chapel Hill Magazine just launched. The story (on page 8) is posted at the reception desk at school. Copies are available for free at businesses around town. We have had luck finding them at Sutton’s and Krispy Kreme on Franklin St. downtown. Click here to see a full list of businesses carrying them.
Tally Time
- Reading logs and pledge forms were due back to school on Friday. If you do find some this weekend (buried at the bottom of backpacks!), please make sure that they get to classroom teachers tomorrow.
- Also, we still need volunteer help for Tally Day! Join us in the FPG Cafeteria on Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 8:15 to 10:30 a.m. We will have coffee and breakfast goodies for all! If you can come for just an hour, we welcome your help! Please email Sharon Stevens at sharon.e.b.stevens@gmail.com if you can make it.
Read-a-thon Published In Carrboro Citizen
Check out page 5 of this week’s Carrboro Citizen (published 2/2) and you’ll find a cute picture of two FPG kindergarteners and a younger sibling “meeting” the alligator at Read-a-thon Night.
Visit the Media Room to see this story as well as all the media coverage – TV, Radio and print – that the FPG Read-a-thon has garnered.
After Reading, Comes Math!
§ We need parent help counting all these Read-a-thon minutes! But, don’t worry we’ll make it fun! Join us in the FPG Cafeteria for Tally Day on Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 8:15 to 10:30 a.m. We will have coffee and breakfast goodies for all! If you can come for just an hour, we welcome your help! Please email Sharon Stevens at sharon.e.b.stevens@gmail.com if you can make it.
Read-a-thon Is Wrapping Up!
Read-a-thon is almost done – tonight is the final night to log at-home reading minutes. Please remember that all at-home reading logs and pledge forms should be sent back to school with your students tomorrow.
