We hope your student will be inspired by this year’s Read-a-thon to make some news! Whether they are setting a personal reading record or sharing what they’ve read with their friends, the news is always good when kids read!
Reading Goals: 100 minutes a day for 1st-5th graders and 75 minutes a day for Pre-K and Kindergarten students.
|Thursday, April 10th||Kick-off assembly in the gymnasium for all students! Local media personalities will show down in a trivia contest to prove who knows the most about books!Reading competition begins. All documents and pledge forms go home to parents.|
|Wednesday, April 166:00 PM-8:00 PM||Read-a-thon Night: 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Shop the Book Fair in the library, create your own funny pages in the art room, or spend some time listening to our celebrity guest readers. Time spent at the Read-a-thon night can be logged for reading minutes for the day.
|Wednesday, April 23||Read-a-thon ends! All reading logs due back to classrooms on this day. Donations should be collected and returned via envelope or through Paypal|
|Monday, May 5||Awards ceremonies in the gymnasium! Awards will be presented to the top readers in each class, grade, and school. If the school makes its cumulative goal of 600,000 minutes read, there will be a dance party with the teachers!|
